NOTING a correspondent last week taking columnist Ed Deedigan to task, I must add to the issue.
‘My Word on Wiltshire’ is anything but, with the column being the latest in a series of spiteful attacks such as “morally bankrupt Tories and their peddling of bile and poison”, “oppression of the masses” and the sneering denigration of the Royal family.
I will resist the urge to challenge most of his Leftist rants which would not be out of place in the Socialist Worker (although I must point out his banker-induced austerity was mightily aided by his Labour government leaving a massive deficit from which we have yet to recover) but strongly suggest that the column is anything but a Wiltshire view and the content totally outside the remit of a regional newspaper whose focus should be primarily on local matters.
