IT IS disappointing that James Gray MP has refused to take part in any election hustings. At the 2015 election he took part in three separate hustings and was heard to say how much he enjoyed the ‘knockabout politics’ of these.
So why is not willing to participate this time? Has he taken his lead from Theresa May who likewise has refused to do the now traditional live TV debates? Is it complacency – no need to debate with the opposition when he sits on a big majority?
If James Gray thinks he is a champion of British political traditions by arguing for our laws to continue to be written on vellum, I do not understand why he now opts out of our long-standing tradition of election hustings.
