VINTAGE steam engines will roll into action next month for the 32nd running of the Castle Combe Steam & Vintage Rally.

Tractors, cars, military vehicles and motorcycles will also be on display at the popular event as well fairground rides for children and live music, including live band Tundra.

There will also be a live arena featuring the Terrier Racing display team, Shetland ponies, Kooky the Clown, radio-controlled buggies, mini Landrover rides and Sheepdog demonstrations.

Money from the event, which takes place at the Castle Combe Circuit on May 20-21, will go towards local charity Jessie May who provide care for terminally ill children within their own homes across Wiltshire.

Jessie May has started working in partnership with Naomi House providing care in the home to 28 terminally ill children in Wiltshire.

Head of fundraising at Jessie May, Julian Withers, said: “The Steam Rally is one of the highlights of the calendar for us at Jessie May and for many families across Wiltshire who look forward to a fun day out packed with things to see and do.

“We’re looking forward to the usual popular displays and exhibits as well as craft stalls, jumble sales, trade stands, fairground rides and refreshments to entertain the whole family. There is also free car parking on site.

“We’re delighted to have been selected as the chosen charity for the event for the third year running. Events like this are vital in helping to fund our work, which is increasingly expanding into Wiltshire.

“A huge part of what we do at Jessie May is helping families to enjoy special days out and moments during the, often too short, time they have together. We hope to see lots of our families at the Steam Rally, creating memories and experiences.”

The Steam Rally is open from 10am-6pm on May 20 and 10am-5pm on May 21, with tickets purchasable on the day.
