CHILDREN at St Paul’s Primary School in Chippenham kicked, dribbled and scored as they took part in a football training and skills session.

Coach Daniel Martin from Swindon Town Football Club visited the school, located on The Oaks, where he held football coaching classes with Key Stage 2 children.

Half of the school’s 220 children took part in the activities, which were held on Tuesday (March 14).

Chris Fox, deputy headteacher at St Paul’s Primary School, said: “It’s the first time we have worked with Swindon Town Football Club.

“They contacted our school, they wanted to do some outreach work and a lot of our children are Swindon supporters, coach Daniel Martin spent some time with every Key Stage 2 class.

“It’s incredibly important to get children outside, it’s about that team building and it’s about that confidence, we want all the children to have that broad curriculum

“The kids loved it and the staff did as well, it was just lovely to get the feedback from Daniel about how brilliant and engaged they were.

“We are going to be doing more work with them and also going to be looking at collaborating in community events.”
