THROUGH the pages of the Gazette & Herald could I say a big thank you to the hard-working small band of volunteers who make up the Drews Pond Woods Project Team as evidenced by the recent resurfacing of the top path.
I’ve seen the team operating and the scalpings that have been placed on the surface of the path have all been moved by wheelbarrow from the area of the skateboard park. A pretty labour intensive and time-consuming job.
On top of that, they have made the edges of the path safe with offcuts of trees felled in their ongoing compartment coppicing operation.
On behalf of all the many people who enjoy walking around Drews Pond Woods, a big thank you.
