I AND two others have recently been supporting my niece Katie who has severe learning difficulties.
We regularly visit the Devizes Foodbank to volunteer our help and have been working with a lovely man called Peter.
Peter has been a volunteer there for quite a time and I believe that he travels quite a distance to get there.
He works very hard sorting through the array of locally-donated food and ensures that food boxes are made up appropriately.
He is always very cheerful and welcoming towards everyone who visits. He does a lot of hours there and is very knowledgeable.
I understand that they are going to have to find a new premises soon.
I would personally like to say a big thank-you to someone who is a very helpful member of the community, but feel that he may be a little undervalued!
The foodbank offers food to members of the community who need it. I think that now would be a great opportunity to remind people that this service is still available locally and possibly give Peter a public thank-you.
