EVERY year the Beaufort Hunt holds a charity meet in order to raise funds for local and national charities, and donations this year topped over £1,250. Over the years many thousands of pounds have been raised.
This year the chosen charity was the Bristol branch of Parkinson's UK. Several members and supporters of the Beaufort Hunt suffer from this devastating and debilitating disease and funds raised will go into local research projects.
The Milsom family have hosted this meet at Hundred Acre Farm, Sopworth for many years and all who attended on Saturday were welcomed with a warming nip of port for some and plenty of sausage rolls and cake.
Willa Harford, from Horton, who organised the bucket collection on Saturday 28th January said: "Oh my goodness, we can't believe how generous everybody has been. We raised £1,313.28 this morning in less than 30 minutes."
