ZUMBA teacher Becky Browning is hoping to get people all around the world up and dancing with the track she has written and recorded herself.

The mother of two, who runs regular classes in Royal Wootton Bassett, is usually busy choreographing, leading her fitness classes and looking after her family.

She has also been the singer in a local covers band.

But the desire to create music as well as dance to it was so strong she started writing her own pieces.

“I’ve always had a huge passion for singing and dancing,” she said.

“I’ve been able to teach dancing and I was inspired to produce a song that could be used for Zumba.”

Three years ago she collaborated with another singer songwriter, Jacquie Sherlock, who she met at one of her classes, to make a record for charity.

Their six-song EP, Everything, raised money for the British Heart Foundation and Macmillan Cancer Care.

It has spurred her on to do her own thing.

Her friend, radio presenter and music producer Dan Chisholm, said he would help and they were off.

“I thought: ‘Brilliant. Lets see what we can come up with',” said Becky.

“I wanted something that was dancey and slightly Latin-inspired.”

The result was Hypnotised (By the Beat).

It began last April and after weeks of work, she and Dan sent it to be mastered at the famous Abbey Road studios in London.

“We decided we were going to treat it seriously,” she said.

Becky was one of the first Zumba instructors in the UK and appeared in an infomercial shown around the world when it took off in the UK nearly seven years ago.

She now runs classes all over North Wiltshire.

“This track, the lyrics for the track and the tempo are just a reflection of how dance has changed my life and how it makes me feel,” said Becky.

“I’ve devoted the last eight years of my life to Zumba and inspiring people to get fit."

She said: “It was really important to have something catchy, with a good melody that makes you want to get up and dance along.”

“All my Zumba clients are behind me all the way. They think it’s great. But I would really like to reach a wider audience. I would love to have it played in everybody’s Zumba classes.”

Becky performs under the name Sienna Sky and her track is launched officially on January 27 when it will be available on Amazon.

It is also available for pre-order on iTunes.
