FOUR men are wanted by police after kicking in the door of a flat in Chippenham following an aggravated burglary.
The incident happened between 6.15-6.45pm on Wednesday (October 26) at a flat on New Road, when the 32-year-old man in the property was threatened by the four men, one of whom it’s believed was carrying a knife.
After realising they had the wrong address the men left, but are described as all wearing dark clothing.
They arrived at the flat in an A Class silver Mercedes having previously done a loop around Union Road and New Road.
Detective constable Justine Parsons, of Central CID, said: “This was understandably a frightening experience for the occupant, who was staying with friends at the time of the incident.
“We are conducting a robust investigation, including house-to-house enquiries and CCTV analysis.
“This incident happened on a fairly busy road at a busy time of day – I am sure there would have been people out and about either driving or walking in the New Road and Union Road area around this time.
“If you saw four men or a silver Mercedes in the area, please get in touch.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
