CALNE-BASED charity Stand Down has received part of the £80,000 auction price after the sale of a Range Rover used to take Prince George home from hospital after he was born.

Stand Down provides free online psychological help to military personnel and their families who suffer as a result of military combat.

The luxury Range Rover was used by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to take Prince George home from St Mary’s Hospital after his birth on July 22, 2013.

Kyna Jeng, CEO of Stand Down, said: "We have several new projects in the pipeline which need supporting and this will help us put the mechanisms in place and allow more people to receive the help they need."

The Range Rover's owner, Nathaniel Comer who is married to KEavy Lynch of former pop group B*witched, will divide the money between Stand Down and the charity he founded, Sun Screen IT. A spokesman for Mr Comer said this week a proportion of the cash will go to Stand Down with most of the money going to Sun Creen IT.
