SCHOOL children from Corsham were rewarded for their investigative and creative skills as the winners of the Summer Holiday Peacock Feather Trail were announced.

Jasmine Perchard, who found all of peacock feathers that were hidden in shop windows throughout the town centre from July 25 - August 20, was presented with a package of Corsham based gifts from local businesses on Friday afternoon.

Colette O'Sullivan, Tourism and Events Officer said: "The Peacock Feather Trail was a joy to organise, we had fantastic support from the local retailers who were involved and sponsored the event.

"Everybody was enthusiastic to be involved in such a fun, family friendly and free event which spanned the summer holidays, bringing lots of people to the Town centre and a flurry of activity with excited children running to and fro finding feathers and collecting stickers!

"We organise an Easter Egg Hunt each year, but I thought the Feather Trail would provide an opportunity for the Town Council to collaborate with local businesses. We worked closely with All the Pretty Things and Camomile Cafe, Helen and Frances organised wonderful craft sessions for preschool and primary school children during the event. The Trail had over 70 entries, we are very lucky to have such creative and clever children in Corsham, who really made the first Peacock Feather Trail an enormous success."

All the Pretty Things Peacock Kids craft Club also awarded a variety of vouchers to Vianne Gould for her winning contribution at the club which was presented by Helen Waive.
