STAFF at the Vodafone store in Marlborough are looking for the local charity which most deserves their £1,000 Community Connection Award.
The money will go to a charity which makes a significant impact on the local community, which helps a group of people rather than one person, and which does not receive government funds.
The aim of the award is to fund a specific project or purpose, rather than just to cover operating costs, and only registered charities can apply for the cash.
Staff at the store on the High Street are inviting people who work with charities in the town and surrounding area to come into the shop and fill in an entry form explaining what their group does and what it would use the money for.
Charities have until August 31 to get their entries in, and then store manager Rob Dearie and his team will sit down, read through all the entries and choose the one they feel most deserves the cash.
