MEMBERS of the 1st Bishops Cannings Rainbows laced up their walking shoes and completed a four-mile walk to raise money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
After visiting the charity's headquarters in Devizes the girls' group decided that they wanted to raise money for the worthwhile cause, agreeing to take part in a sponsored walk.
Kirsten Wynne, 32, of Walden Lodge Close, Devizes, leader of the Rainbows, said: “We were originally going to do a two-mile walk but it ended up being closer to four and a half. It was such a beautiful day and the girls really enjoyed it. We actually saw an air ambulance flying over which was great timing. There was no moaning, they were just very eager to complete the task.”
Donations are still flooding in for the girls' efforts, with Mrs Wynne estimating a total of £400 has been raised so far.
“We haven’t counted it all up yet but when we have it all we will be going to the HQ and presenting them a cheque,” added Mrs Wynne.
