IN your editorial ‘Jail threat for racist bigots’ (July 7) you refer to a local woman who hounded a man of Pakistani origin, saying: “People like her are probably only a couple of IQ points from having to live in a pot.”
We must be clear that the focus of our disapproval is her racism, not her IQ level, whatever this may be. There is no correlation between intelligence and racism.
Nick Griffin, who used to lead the BNP and was an MEP for five years, was a Cambridge graduate. Prejudice and bigotry exist within our society, regardless of individuals’ levels of intelligence.
