On a lovely sunny day at The Grove, skipper Paul Clark won the toss and asked visitors Avebury to have first use of the pitch.
After 10 overs it looked like this decision was going to back fire as Avebury had reached 50 with out loss, this prompted a change in bowling bringing on Rikki Jackson who had in his second over Chatfield caught behind for 38.
Wickets then started to fall at regular intervals, before an onslaught from John Rheinberg who hit a rapid 34 left Avebury realing at 155 all out from just 32.5 overs.
The pick of the Potterne bowlers being Rikki Jackson with 4/44 in 9 overs and Ollie Smith 4/15 in 2.4 overs.
With an early finish to the Avebury innings Potterne where forced to go out for 45 minutes batting before tea. Not the best of starts as Potterne lost their captain in the first over LBW without troubling the scorers.
This brought Ollie Smith to the wicket to join the bronzed Mark Colyer, they both struggled early on, but hung around taking the shine off the new ball.
Soon the runs started to flow freely and Ollie Smith scored his maiden league 50 for the club, with Colyer destined to join him, before hitting a full toss to point for a well made 48.
Cloete then joined Smith and Potterne sailed home in the 31st over without losing any further wickets. Smith finishing unbeaten on 75.
