WITH reference to Mr Ashley O’Neil’s letter regarding public toilets in Chippenham, there is sadly a policy of non co-operation with Wiltshire Council by Chippenham Town Council. This policy, whether or not it affects the welfare of the inhabitants of Chippenham, must be maintained. Whether it’s a matter of cost, one has to ask, is the provision of “fishing lakes” more worthy than public toilets? Perhaps Desna Allen could advise this.
On another matter, the letter from Coun Terry Chivers in the same edition, states that he is surprised. I am equally surprised that he was not aware that Wiltshire Council did not “axe” or “fire” or “sack” any employees, but they left for a very generous offer made by the council, so many wanted to accept the offer that it had to close.
