THE Rowdey Cow Cafe in Rowde is calling all singles for its special take on a Valentine's Day singles night.

The new Pre-Valentine’s First Dates Singles Night will be taking place at the cafe on February 13. The evening was set up to offer people something different on Valentine’s Day.

Sue Thompson, owner of the Rowdey Cow, said: “I remember when I was single, there really wasn’t much to do for Valentine’s Day, so I thought it would be nice to do a singles night. The idea is based on the Channel 4 programme First Dates.”

The singles night is going to have a different twist to it, with people being able to meet multiple people during the night.

“Instead of all the courses being with one person, people will be having each course with a different person, just in case they may not get on. It will start with drinks and entertainment, everyone being together, then split off into pairs, then join together at the end for ice cream,” Mrs Thompson added.

As well as food, live music by local musician Joe Edwards will start the evening, as well as the chance to have a couple of drinks.

“We haven’t had a huge amount of applications so far, mainly it is women who have signed up, so we hope it will take off a bit. If it is popular it could run on a regular basis,” said Mrs Thompson.

Tickets cost £18 per person, to get an application form you can email info@rowdeycow.co.uk or call (01380) 829666. Applications must be handed in by February 6.
