POPULAR with students from Pewsey, Upavon and Everleigh, Andover College is holding its next open evening on Wednesday, November 18.

According to the college's research the most important factors for parents when choosing a college are quality of teaching, academic results and location.

In August 2015, the college celebrated a 99.3% A-level pass rate with 68% achieving high grade (A* to C) passes in all subjects and Ofsted rates all teaching at Andover College as Outstanding or Good.

As a bonus a subsidised bus is available for students who travel to the college from Pewsey, Upavon and Everleigh.

As it is in the heart of the town centre, in Charlton Road, within a mile of the bus and train station, the college is easy to get to.

Tim Jackson, principal, said: “Most parents want the same thing for their children. They want a college which offers excellent teaching, delivers on results and they want both of these things here in Andover.

"Those who think this can only be found out of town need to come along to our next open evening, speak to the teachers and hear about our student achievements and successes.

"Teachers are at the heart of good results and we have outstanding teachers here. It’s time for parents to find out for themselves what Andover College is really like.”

Prospective students, their parents and guardians will also see for the first time plans for the new multi-million pound Technology and Future Skills Centre which will incorporate new teaching and workshop space for the Motor Vehicle and Construction departments and introduce electrical training to Andover.

The college offers more than 40 A-levels and has a proven track record of getting students in to their university of choice.

Although high importance is placed on achieving top results, there is also a very strong focus on personal development, so students are genuinely prepared for life after college. Its High Achievers’ programme aims to stretch and stimulate the most able of students so they can continue to aim high and reach their full potential.

Those looking for a more hands-on course will enjoy a tour around the vocational based training facilities which include sport, music, hair and beauty and the Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ Creative and Performing Arts department.

Due to building works visitors are encouraged to use town centre parking.

Register for the open evening, from 4.30-8pm, at www.andover.ac.uk or call 01264 360000, for more information.
