REDLAND Primary School in Chippenham has received a bright new addition after success in a Homebase competition, beating every other school in the town.
Year 4 pupil Paddy won the design competition with his underwater scene, including an octopus, which now appears on a brand new shed.
Headteacher Hilary Lambert said: “Paddy’s over the moon, absolutely thrilled, his family are delighted and very proud of him as the school is, he’s our very own super star.
“We are delighted with our colourful shed, it’s a great addition to our outside space.
"We are going to use it to store our forest schools equipment, all the children are going to benefit, it will be very useful for our Forest School curriculum.
“We encourage creativity, we want every child to be creative and enjoy all aspects of our school curriculum.”
The six foot by four foot shed, which was delivered, put together and painted by Homebase last week, now has pride of place on the school field for all to see and enjoy.
The shed will store the school’s Forest School equipment which is used to encourage and inspire individuals through an innovative, educational approach to outdoor play and learning.
Competition run by Homebase was sent to all local schools by Chippenham store
Mrs Lambert added: “It lends itself beautifully to brightening up the shed, it’s turned it into something really special.”
