I FEEL that some criticism of Sainsbury’s refit in Devizes is a little unfair. We all dislike having our comfort disturbed but Sainsbury’s is trying to help us and on the whole I find this useful. I, like other correspondents, am still trying to find my way round but give it a go!
Paul Kerriage (August 27) comments on "the much loathed self-scanning area" and T Goodacre thinks Sainsbury’s arrogant at trying to speed up service. Many of us find this convenient. I can scan my shopping and be out the door whilst others are still waiting to be be served at a conventional checkout and that was before the alterations.
Why not give it a try ? It does not take much common sense to get the hang of using it and I’m over 80!!
