FINAL preparations are underway for Pewsey Music Festival which kicks off at midday on Saturday (August 8) in Cooper's Field with The Apes of Rock.

A steady stream of live music follows with eight bands in total on the main stage interspersed with shorter sets from six acts on the second stage, culminating with headliners the Jon Amor Band.

Jon, who lives in Devizes, is renowned not only in Wiltshire but across the world both for his solo work and his tours with The Hoax.

Organiser Liz Boden said: "We launched Pewsey Music Festival in 2007 to bring diverse quality live music to people's doorstep at an affordable price. From humble beginnings the festival has become an established date on the calendar, attracting loyal supporters from across the UK as well as our local faithfuls.

"The marquees are in place, the stage is being set up on Friday and we're looking forward to a great day."

Other main stage groups include guitar duet The Showhawk Duo, Yes tribute act Fragile, reggae band The Erin Bardwell Collective, pop-folk I Said Yes, country-tinged The August List, and classic rock group Invisible Vegas. Local folksters The Yirdbards, rockers Everlust and Marc Nelson's blues trio are just a few of the acts appearing on the second stage.

Entertainment includes Spinal Tap on stilts, arts and crafts demonstrations, a magic show, balloon animals, face-painting, various stalls, and inflatables.
