GUESTS attending the fourth birthday party of Trowbridge-based charity People Against Poverty raised more than £1,000 to fund its work at the beginning of July.
The birthday party was held at the charity’s headquarters in Hilperton and was sponsored by Andy Barlow of Barlow Financial Management and the Grangeside Business Centre.
Among the guests were supporters of People against Poverty and members of the related organisation Business against Poverty, as well as Mayor of Trowbridge Roger Andrews.
Business against Poverty is a not-for-profit business network, running alongside People against Poverty, which provides support to people in poverty in the UK and overseas.
Val Huxley, who founded the charity with husband Bill, said: “We'd just like to say thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us.
“Special thanks must go to Andy Barlow of Barlow Financial Management for sponsoring the event, the team at the Grangeside Business Centre for providing such a beautiful location and the Trowbridge Chambers of Commerce for partnering with us.
“We'd also like to thank After Aura and Wafaa Belly Dancing for entertaining us as well as recognising the efforts of our wonderful team of staff and volunteers who worked so hard in the lead up and on the night. We're already looking forward to our fifth birthday party next year.”
