Freddie Joel Davis

Born: June 22, 4.49am

Weight: 7Ib 8oz

Parents: Angela Watson and Ryan Davis, Trowbridge

NEWBORN baby Freddie was certainly in a hurry to meet his parents and siblings, with mum Angela Watson giving birth to her third child just 40 minutes after arriving at Trowbridge Birthing Centre.

Freddie is the first child for Miss Watson and her partner of almost three years Ryan Davis. Miss Watson also has two other children, Issy, 14, and Charlie, 10, while Mr Davis has three-year-old Harry from a previous relationship.

The couple, who live in The Poplars, Trowbridge, had to make a mad dash to the birthing centre in the early hours of the morning and were full of praise for the midwives.

Miss Watson, 38, who also had Charlie at the birthing centre, said: “The pregnancy was really straight forward and while he was a couple of days past his due date, the birth went really quickly.

“I gave birth 40 minutes after arriving at the birthing centre and it went so quickly that I didn’t get the name of the midwife who delivered until afterwards, which was probably the most unusual thing about the birth.

“My midwife was called Vanessa and she was absolutely brilliant. I want to thank Vanessa and all the staff at the birthing centre as they were great, and I would have struggled if I had to go to the RUH.”

Miss Watson said that the names for the couple’s newborn were suggested by Mr Davis, 27, who works as a civil servant at the MoD, and that many of their friends and family were trying to guess the names ahead of the birth.

“The names were Ryan’s suggestion and I think they just came to him really. We knew the sex beforehand and had the names early on, but we didn’t tell anyone else,” added Miss Watson, head of service management at Valldata.

“Everyone was trying to guess what names we had picked from a list of 25 and only one of my friends picked the correct first name, which they were pretty smug about.

“Freddie is the most contented baby I have ever known and he loves being passed around. His siblings are really happy to have a little brother and they are giving him lots of cuddles and taking their role seriously.”
