THE Monkton Park Scarecrow trail returns this weekend with a heroes and villains theme.
People on the Chippenham estate have made 43 scarecrows to raise funds for their primary school.
There is a family ticket to Bath's Roman Baths on offer for whoever guesses the most correctly.
And visitors can vote for their favourite scarecrow to win a family ticket for the At-Bristol science attraction.
This year the trail has been organised by Janine Maclean of the school's PTA committee, who said: "It should be lots of fun, a real community event. We hope to raise at least £500 for the school."
Youngsters at Riverside Pre-school, including Mrs Maclean's three-year-old daughter Charlotte, used papier mache and tights stuffed with newspaper for their Spiderman creation, while her six-year-old brother Zachary is helping his mum to make Cruella de Vil.
The trail around Monkton Park takes place on May 16 and 17, with a barbecue on Saturday afternoon.
Trail sheets can be bought for £3 between 10am and 5pm from the primary school or the Tenth Hole tea room.
The trail started in 2008 but took a break last year. Former themes have been nursery rhymes and children’s television characters and the school has in the past used the proceeds to buy playground equipment and books.
