Councillors are to discuss proposals to build a three-metre high fence at a school where a pupil was attacked in January.
Henry Webster,15, was attacked with a hammer at Ridgeway School in Wroughton.
The plans to build the fence came after pressure from parents to improve security at the school.
The boy was taken to Frenchay Hospital near bristol following the attack over which several people were quizzed and a teenager charged.
Councillors in Swindon will debate the fence option on Tuesday.
