Devizes police seized heroin, amphetamine and cannabis when they carried out three drugs raids.

The raids took place last Friday at a flat in Mayenne Place and one in Hare and Hounds Street, Devizes, and a house in Potterne. Four people were arrested.

Inspector Caroline Evely, who led the raids, said the drugs seized were for personal use and she wanted the public to help her track down the dealers.

Insp Evely said: "Some of the people we arrested were in quite a state through drug abuse. They had no pride in themselves and their homes were in disarray. All the people expressed a desire to come off drugs and we referred them to drug agencies.

"The amount of drugs seized was related to personal use and it's the next level up - the people who are dealing the drugs - that we need to get to grips with.

"We are looking for information to target the people dealing drugs and profiting from it.

"Often the dealers aren't even users but live in comfortable homes with the latest mod cons with their families. There is a stark contrast between the way drug dealers and drug users are living."

Ten officers were involved in the three drugs raids.

Two women were arrested at the flat in Hare and Hounds Street where heroin was found. Heroin was also found in the flat in Mayenne Place and one man was arrested.

In Potterne one woman was arrested after amphetamines and cannabis were found.
