SHOPPERS gave more than £1,700 to eight Chippenham organisations carol singing in Sainsbury’s.
The groups each sang for 105 minutes over the weekend of December 13 and 14, entertaining customers with classics such as Jingle Bells and Silent Night.
Gillian Culley, from Cancer Research UK’s Box and Corsham branch, said: “I’d like to thank the customers for their generosity and also Sainsbury’s staff who were so welcoming and supportive.”
The groups taking part were Chippenham Lions Club, Doorway, Corsham RFC and Chippenham RFC, plus Stanton St Quintin, Monkton Park and Kington St Michael primary schools.
