Gritters are out for the first time this winter, treating main routes, as temperatures are expected to fall below freezing.
Wiltshire Council's @WiltshireWinter account tweeted: "Gritters out for the first time this winter season treating primary routes.
"Take care when travelling overnight."
And the Met Office's forecast for Wiltshire including Swindon said: "Skies will become clear this evening with temperatures falling markedly.
"This will lead to a cold and clear night with a widespread frost developing and some freezing fog patches in places, which will be slow to clear through the morning.
"Minimum Temperature -3C."
Forecasters say Monday will be largely sunny, after a cold and frosty start.
Temperatures will fall sharply after dusk with some fog patches forming.
