A Chippenham hairdresser has shaved her head to honour her beloved nan who died from cancer.
Caroline Prades, who owns El Pradas Hair, Nails and Beauty in Lodge Road, took eight weeks off work last year to help care for her 87-year-old dying nan Iris Cooper, who had lung cancer.
It was her wish to die at home, in Baydon Grove, Calne, and she was able to fulfil her wish thanks to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Mrs Prades, 41, of Pewsham, has raised £800 to thank the charity.
She said: “Once you witness what they do, it really brings it home what they have to go through themselves seeing what they do every day, it’s amazing.
“The nurses supported not just nan, but all of us.”
She said after getting the close shave she felt liberated.
She said: “When I saw it I was really proud. I said I’d do it for my nan and I did. I really adored her.”
Since then the response to her headshave has been very positive, said Mrs Prades.
