Horticultural student Andrew Sharp has been recognised by Devizes Town Council with a Local Gardening Hero award.
The 23-year-old, who attends Wiltshire College’s Lackham campus, was recognised for his skill and effort in brightening up a border along Southbroom Road, Devizes, where he lives.
The award is part of South West in Bloom, where voluntary public displays can be entered and voted on by residents.
Mr Sharp’s display attracted a huge amount of votes, netting him the award which was presented to him at the town hall last night.
He said: “I was over the moon when I found out I had won the special award – it has taken a long time to get the border to look the way it is now.”
