Marlborough band Crash is putting its weight behind the Finlay Foundation through fundraising gig in aid of the charity.
The band performs rock covers and they have wanted for several years to do something to support the foundation, which was set up by the parents of six-year-old Finlay Connor who died after being hit by a bus as he walked to school in Woodborough in 2011.
Finlay’s father Greg Connor said: “The opportunity never really arose for them to do so in a suitable way until speaking with the new management team at the Royal Oak in Marlborough.
“Paul Dyke and Kirsten Moore have taken over and breathed new life into the Oak and they wanted to make some changes to the way things were done and also show support for some local charities and they have to throw their support behind the Finlay Foundation.
“They fully understand and support the charity’s remit of raising money to improve the lives, safety and happiness of children and young people.”
On Saturday, October 11 Crash UK will be playing as The Foundation Band and will donate the fee they would normally receive to the charity.
Greene King is supporting the event and will be providing special offers during the evening, which kicks off at 9pm.
Ticket holders will also be entered into a draw with a chance to win prizes including meals at local restaurants. Tickets cost £5 and 300 are on sale at The Royal Oak, in the High Street.
