TEACHER Alison Joyce will be launching her new book to teach children French on Saturday.

Mrs Joyce, who teaches in Devizes, Marlborough and Chippenham, will be reading Bonjour! Madame Le Bonbon and signing copies at 11am in Devizes Books. The book follows the 49-year-old’s novel methods of teaching French to children as young as 18 months and has already sold out its first print run.

Mrs Joyce, of Southbroom Road, said: “I have been teaching French to children for 17 years and have always dreamed of producing a book. Bonjour! Madame Le Bonbon introduces the French language to children in a relaxed and enjoyable way and you’ll be surprised how quickly they pick it up.”

After writing the book she approached friend and artist Pip Falkner Lee, who specialises in miniatures and portraits, to illustrate it.

It is on sale at Devizes Books, Hebe’s Emporium in Bradford on Avon and Corsham Book Shop, or at www.madamelebonbon.com
