The Chippenham Half-Marathon was a splendid sight, and I was delighted to see the excellent coverage in the Gazette & Herald.
The letter from a ‘participant’ last week was a typical response from those who took part, as it was such an obvious pleasure to take part in this annual spectacular festival of running, and any closure of roads had been well notified months in advance.
It was sad that there were a tiny minority of dissenting voices about such closures, which are only there until the last runner has passed.
This annual event brings out thousands of people to cheer on friends and relatives. It is now firmly established on the Chippenham sporting scene, and best wishes to all who organised the race and those who took part.
David Harvey, Brookwell Close, Chippenham.
