Families enjoyed summertime fun at a bee and honey event at Lacock Abbey on Sunday.
The festivities, organised by the Melksham Beekeepers Association, took place in the National Trust site’s botanic garden.
There was a display of beekeeping equipment and information about making honey, with tasty samples to try.
Rachael Holtom, Lacock Abbey’s visitor experience officer, said: “It was a really good day and despite warnings of thunderstorms, visitors weren’t scared off.
“It was a lovely event and there was a really friendly village atmosphere.
“Visitors were able to learn so much about beekeeping, and there were lots refreshments for people to enjoy.
“It is really wonderful to host events like this in our beautiful botanic garden.”
There were demonstrations running throughout the day. Children had a chance to take part in candle rolling and the abbey’s make and take workshops.
Sue Carter, head gardener at Lacock Abbey, was on hand to speak to visitors about the historic grounds.
She said: “The Bee and Honey Day is a lovely, relaxing event which we enjoy hosting each year. The enthusiasm of the beekeepers really shines through.”
