Sports clubs in Malmesbury were targeted in two ‘amateurish’ atttempted burglaries over the weekend.
Police believe they are looking for an burglar, possibly from the area, after both the cricket club, at The Wortheys, and the bowls club in Baskerville Hill, were broken in to overnight on May 10 and May 11.
The offender forced open the door to the cricket club but failed to get through the bar door, and a building block was used to smash a padlock to a shed at the bowls club on the same night. Nothing has been reported stolen.
Sergeant Martin Alvis, of Malmesbury Police, said: "I would think there is probably a connection between them.
“If there was anybody up there that you don’t think should be, especially in an isolated place like the cricket club, you should definitely get in contact.”
If you have any information to assist police with their enquiries call 101.
