If any of your readers have children with Type 1 diabetes then we’d like to encourage them to take part in one of our fun-filled children’s residential events, being held across the UK this summer.

We know that taking part in events like these makes a massive difference to the lives of children who may be struggling with aspects of their diabetes. Children and young people are given the support, skills and confidence they need to help them better manage their condition. Healthcare professionals are on hand 24/7 to give advice and support in a relaxed setting a world away from hospitals and doctors’ surgeries. Kayaking, rock climbing, mountain biking and day trips are just some of the activities children can take part in.

We don’t want any child to feel isolated because of their diabetes. Our events are a brilliant opportunity for children to make lasting friendships, learn more about their diabetes and improve their care.

For more information about events in your region, including details of our bursary scheme, and to download an application form, visit www.diabetes.org.uk/careevents, email careevents@diabetes.org.uk or telephone 0345 123 2399.
