An elderly woman was injured and her dog was killed after they were involved in a three-vehicle crash in Crudwell, near Malmesbury, on Tuesday.
The woman, from Tetbury, who was driving a Renault Clio, was involved in a collision with a Subaru registered to Cirencester and a BMW from the Malmesbury area on the A429 Chelworth road outside Kemble Business Park.
Police, fire and ambulance crews, as well as vets from Ashcroft vets in Cirencester, were called to the scene.
The woman driver of the Clio had to be cut free from her car after complaining of an injured back and was taken by ambulance to the Great Western Hospital, Swindon.
Her Jack Russell was killed instantly and a lurcher, also belonging to the driver, was taken to Cirencester.
