Chippenham hairdresser Isaac Shaw, who has ade a remarkable recovery from serious head injuries, was elated to get to the end of the Bath Half in 2 hours, 27 minutes despite having a torn knee cartilage.
Mr Shaw, 30, who works at Hairport, was left in a coma after he was assaulted outside Bar E11evn in the town centre in July, 2012.
He has undergone two major operations and has a titanium plate in his head.
He said: “I ran through the pain barrier. I’m so made up I did it, it was awesome.
"I had to stop for 10 minutes with St John Ambulance and they said I shouldn’t be running with a torn knee, but it was worth it to feel the way I did at the end.”
He was raising money for the charity Headway, not a charity he used himself but one which he said he could relate to.
