AS many pubs struggle to survive in the economic climate, The Neeld Arms, Grittleton, is bucking the trend as it unveils its new extension.
The West Wing, as it has been dubbed, was opened this week by Joan Talbot, who has lived in the village for 76 years.
More than 50 locals attended the unveiling by licensees Charlie and Boo West, who have been at the village pub since 2001.
Mr West said: “The extension is on the west side of the pub so, given our surname, the locals christened it ‘the West Wing’, which always raises a smile – so we thought ‘let’s go with it’.”
