Beginners at Devizes Budo Club will be able to develop their skills safely thanks to a donation from local heating oil supplier Butler Fuels.
The sports group on Dunkirk Hill has been teaching judo, aikido and karate since 1957. The club was in need of new crash mats to give learners the confidence to fall safely.
Butler Fuels, in London Road, donated £300, after Richard Hopkins, head coach, applied for funding. The donation was made as part of its bursary scheme.
Sue Lewis, regional manager at Butler Fuels, said: “We are glad that we were able to extend our support to these athletes.”
