A CHIPPENHAM newsagent manager has volunteered to have wet sponges thrown at him as part of a fundraising drive for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
Rich Kelty, manager at McColls at Redland, will be in the stocks this Saturday, November 2, while his staff will be putting sponges to use washing cars in exchange for donations to CRY.
The charity raises awareness of conditions that can lead to young sudden cardiac death.
McColls will also hold a tea, coffee and cake stall and staff will be carrying out their work in Halloween fancy dress. Customers can vote on their favourite costume.
Mr Kelty said: “My staff and I are really keen to do our bit for such a worthy cause. We just ask people to come along, have some fun, and help us to raise the money.”
A raffle, offering a carvery for two at the Pheasant, will be drawn on Saturday between 2pm and 4pm.
