Students at Corsham School’s Sixth Form College had plenty to celebrate last Thursday, as the school received its best ever set of results.

The Tynings school opened from 10am to students eager to find out if they had made the grade, with A-level and AS results finally released.

Head of sixth form Alan Bolter, speaking on Thursday, said: “I’ve been looking through the results early this morning, and we’ve had a 100 per cent pass rate, which is the best we have ever had.

“Things like re-marks are still going to come in, but we expect to get around 60 per cent A* to B grades. This means most of the students secured their places at some very prestigious universities, and we would like to pass on our heartfelt congratulations to them for their hard work, and the staff for their efforts and dedication.

“There were some stunning individual results; Marianna Hunt got an A* and three As, and is going to Oxford to read French, and Zac Du Toit got four A*s and an A, and he’s going to study medicine at Bristol. I am absolutely delighted; they were a fantastic year group, and they all deserve their success.”
