Neston Country Inn is Pub of the Month and owners Tony and Desrae Procos thank their community for the award.

The Neston Country Inn is in Neston, near Corsham, and attracts both the locals and guests from further afield.

Mr Procos said: “We were absolutely pleased when we found out.

“We’re kind of tucked away, we serve the local community. It’s probably the food which encouraged people and it’s a meeting place in the village.”

Mr and Mrs Procos have run the pub for four years. They moved to the UK from South Africa 17 years ago.

Mr Procos said: “We looked at pubs in lots of areas, but just liked the look of this one.”

Neston Country Inn offers a selection of beers and ciders, accommodation and locally-sourced food from its restaurant. The steaks and roasts are from locally-reared animals at the Neston Park Estate farm.

Mr Procos said: “In the summer we have one local ale, a flat cider and London Pride, but it’s usually three ales on tap.

“We have a quiz night monthly and a book group that meets once a month. We sometimes have live music.

“We have a beer garden and back onto the village rec green so often people have a drink here while their kids play on the rec.”

The building dates back to the 1820s, and was formerly known as the Carpenters’ Arms.
