A Devizes speech and language therapist is running sessions for primary aged children who find it hard to socialise.
Rachel Smith has run social skills groups elsewhere and said just a week can make a real difference.
The groups are aimed at children with social communication needs, including those with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as those without a formal diagnosis.
Ms Smith said: “It makes sense if you are trying to help social awareness that you do it in a social situation, that children learn how to interact when they are actually interacting with their peers. Parents benefit too, both from contact with other parents and from increased understanding of how to help their children make friends.”
Children will be grouped according to their age, ability and need and the groups will be run at Braeside Education and Conference Centre, Devizes over the summer holidays.
