Little Somerford Village Hall has undergone renovations thanks to a £2,500 donation from Somerford Show organisers.
The show, in its 118th year, holds its annual dinner in the hall but due to health and safety fire regulations had to restrict numbers.
Hall committee chairman Mike Jones said: “They came up with the idea and asked whether we would be open to replacing an internal wall with a false wall, so increasing the capacity of the hall by merging the small committee room with the main hall.
“They didn’t want to leave the hall due to the tradition of holding their dinner at Little Somerford for so long.”
Mr Jones and his committee asked Lyneham carpenter George Dickinson for a quote.
He said he liked the idea of the challenge and offered his services for £2,500.
Somerford Show agreed to pay the full cost and work was completed within four days.
