Haitdresser Kimberley Smith is tackling a two-day charity bike ride to help raise money for a new respiratory unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The former St John’s student is heading out to Ibiza today to take part in the 135km Round the Island cycle challenge along with 13 of her colleagues at John Frieda in Mayfair.
She said: “I’m really excited because I’ve never done anything like this before.
“I was training a lot earlier on but I’ve haven’t done as much recently because I’ve been doing some promotional work in my spare time so I haven’t had much chance to train.
“I had to raise £1,200 and I’ve already raised £1,300 through cash donations.”
The challenge is part of the HAIRraising appeal which was set up in 2010 by the hairdressing industry to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
