Abbeyfield School showed second-hand could be chic in a fashion show raising cash for Oxfam.
Pupils brought the charity shop to the catwalk at the show on Thursday evening, displaying a wide range of prom and wedding dresses and suits from the special occasion department of Chippenham’s Oxfam shop.
The show was put on by a Year 12 team, led by student Kaitlin Ramage. Some of Abbeyfield’s teachers also had their moment in the spotlight, including art teacher Simon Down – strutting to Hot Stuff in a three-piece suit.
Fellow art teacher Laura Maughan said: “Hopefully many of the outfits will be zooming off the rails at Oxfam as a result of their promotion.”
Live music was provided by Year 8 singer and guitarist Luke Gittins and Year 13 student Toby Partridge on his homemade drum box.
Canapés were made by BTEC catering teacher Rosie Smedley and hand massages and manicures were provided by Year 11 students doing hair and beauty at Wiltshire College.
