FOLK NIGHT AT KEEVIL MANOR

0n Saturday 4th July the village of Keevil is holding a Folk Concert with some of the finest folk acts from our own area and beyond - each one offering their own varied and distinctive music.

This is a unique opportunity to enjoy folk music at its very best in the idyllic setting of the walled garden at Keevil Manor on an English summer evening.

There is no headline act as they are all equally good. Performers include Alan Hinds who is a talented performer well-known in the local folk scene; Eranimh a singing duo of Helen Thorne and husband Kirk – Helen is talented with 40 years singing experience; The Frukes (Frome Ukelele Band) – formed in 2011 they are a group of over 20 musicians with years of experience whose notable performances include the Edinburgh Fringe Festival; Mike Scott – a very talented and well-known singer/songwriter; Hilary Pavey – singer/songwriter and guitarist since she was 16 years old, has performed live on radio and various folk festivals; Ian and Jan – traditional, contemporary acoustic duo from Gloucestershire; David Waddington – a versatile writer and performer, has recorded and toured both as a solo artist as well as with bands including Toyah Willcox and Leigh Franklin; The Yirdbards (Earth Poets) singing poetic, thought-provoking songs about man’s fragile relationship with nature; Wessex Contraband – a Celtic folk band – all are consummate musicians on various instruments; Folklaw – an exciting new-age band who have toured Europe and North America, between them they play a plethora of instruments; and home-grown village talent the K eevil Fishermen.
