THE Friends of Queen’s Crescent have launched their summer raffle and are hoping to raise more than £1,000 for the Chippenham primary school.

FOQC was set up as a charity to raise much-needed funds for the school as well as supporting the wider community.

They organise food bank donations, hampers for local families and outdoor socially-distanced Bubble Bach concerts for children within current government guidelines.

The charity’s spokeswoman Maria Fuente said: “We were looking forward to our traditional Summer Fayre as the last one was held two years ago. Unfortunately, due to current restrictions, it cannot go ahead.

“However, we are still launching our popular Summer Raffle virtually. Anyone can take part by sending us an email. We raised £1,000 last year and we are hoping to beat that."

“We have some amazing prizes to win and prizes are being added all the time, including a Dyson Supersonic hairdryer worth £299.99.

“Other prizes include a Lovell’s Rest caravan stay for six in Devon £200 voucher, a Travel Counsellors hamper, a six-month subscription to The Week Junior magazine, Taittinger Champagne, Whittard Afternoon Tea gift sets and Little Voices lessons.”

Mrs Fuente added: “The money raised will make a very valuable contribution towards buying additional equipment and resources for the children across the school.”

Supporters can now purchase raffle tickets by emailing foqc.raffle@gmail.com. The tickets are just £1 each.

Tickets will be issued by email and payment is by bank transfer to account Friends of Queen’s Crescent School 30-91-99 03365500 with the word ‘Raffle’ followed by your name as the reference.

The raffle draw will take place at Queen’s Crescent Primary School on Thursday, July 22. Winners will be notified by email on that day and the winners’ names will also be posted on the FOQC Facebook page.
