Channel 4โฒs 24 hours in police custody has returned to our screens for a third series.
The series follows Bedfordshire Police as they investigate cases in Luton. Once someone is in custody, police have 24 hours to investigate and interview, after that itโs charge or release
Here are 14 that happened during the first episode
1. Viewers including Pointlessโs Richard Osman were really excited #policecustody was back.
2. A small town near Luton was suffering a spike in teenage violence. The suspect was 19-year-old Dylan McEwan.
He had been known to police since he was 14 and they had plenty of photos of him on file.
He was arrested on suspicion of robbery. He claimed he had been stabbed in the bum with a piece of wood laden with nails.
3. This was the dream team of detectives who wanted to talk to him. Meet Detective Sergeant Emma James and Detective Constable Cathie Layton.
4. But most importantly, there was a debate over whether Luton is a shithole or not.
5. Shithole or not, there was a beautiful sunset.
6. Back to Dylan โ his alleged accomplice and cousin was called Connor Moriarty, which made everyone think of Sherlock.
7. Some people really loved DC Layton.
8. Some found her and DS James a bit annoying.
9. The funniest moment was when police went to find Moriarty and his dad got a bit confused with his phone.
10. Also when Cathie thought Renault was pronounced Ren-nalt.
11. Brett Jones, Dylanโs solicitor was pretty crafty โ he had known him since he was 14
12. Dylanโs story didnโt add up so he was charged.
13. We wonโt give away the exact ending, but some viewers were a bit disappointed.
